I've been working hard over the last few days. Big improvement at Sherbet
Land - finally found some half decent lines!
Twice during these attempts I improved laps by 0.001 seconds, before
improving them by much more later.
I think it's about time I checked out more of the videos to see where I'm
losing so much time.

That's the last of my Int D standards gone.
Now for the Int Cs... or perhaps the two tracks where my fastest lap is two
standards ahead of my course time.

Hmmm, I've only just realised that all of these courses are from the Flower
Cup. Looks like I ought to do Waluigi Stadium next.

Finally! I've managed to do Mushroom Bridge without hitting any vehicles and
only missing a couple of MTs. Now to optimise my lines!

Both the Mario and Daisy flaps are one-shroomers, so I should be able to
beat those easily enough...

I didn't think I'd be able to improve again as much as I did last week, but
course & lap PRs on eight courses in two days suggests I was wrong.

I don't believe it - two PRs set within minutes of each other with the same
last three digits! What are the chances of that?

(answer - 1000/1, I think)

I don't know where the Yoshi Circuit lap came from - it was a one-shroomer
and beat my old PR (a two-shroomer) by 0.6 seconds!

My target this week: reach Advanced A in ARR.

To do this: after this weeks update I need to improve a total of 20
standards.
The times I submitted yesterday improved this by 8 (including three on the
RR lap - from AC to ED).

Twelve more to go!

Today: First, Mushroom City. This was my only course where both lap and
course were AC. After a number of frustrating efforts (where I screwed up at
least one lap and couldn't break 1 minute 45) I finally managed the above,
which means I leapfrogged AB to be AA on both lap and course (and not far
short of ED on both). That's four!

Next: Dino Dino Jungle. If I can just complete three good laps I might just
make the AA standard (and of course one good two-shrooming lap for the
f-lap).

(long pause)

Sigh... is there a more soul-destroying course than DDJ?
After many, many, MANY failed attempts I finally managed to improve the
course from AC to AB and the lap from AB to AA. That's another two.

...

OK, six more down, six to go!

BC: 2:35:382 0:50:124

Well, that didn't take long. Seven more improved standards means I am now
Advanced A (only just - 13.4375 average).

I now have 2 ED, 14 AA and 16 AB. It somehow feels wrong to be classed AA
when half my times are AB, but I suppose having nothing worse than that
justifies it.

What next? Um, I suppose I'll go for a 'true' AA standard, i.e. a 13.0000
average (fourteen improvements needed).

Let's see what happens...
