Hayo,
I've decided to submit some times now since I have a lot
of them (most good, some still not so good). Plus I
don't want anyone accusing me of hoarding, seeing as I
just hit a nice LC flap.. and I better report it while
it lasts. Also, I want people to know that I exist, etc
etc.

I have 7 of my better scores ghosted (nothing taped so
far, seeing as the replays are pretty useless in this
game). I could send that to, say, Ben, in the future (if
required).
My oldest times are YC and MB.

Comments (for anyone interested):
LC: 3lap: 26'89, 26'06, 25'82 0-1-1; Had a 1'18'986 and
25'417 before today.
BP: ta Charles Tasserit for the 9'06 video.. that
helped.
DDD: 3lap: 31'56, 31'18, 33'98 1-1-0. Got both of these
two hours ago.. really happy with them, considering my
PRs yesterday were 1'44 and 32'7 (wrong shroom-spots)..
I messed up the final turn on my last lap a bit, missing
out on the WR (actually I thought I had got it, til I
checked online). Flap is far from potential... I can
cause a bit of a headache for Cesar here.
MB: these are probably my oldest PRs now. A bit over a
week ago this was my best ranking track. I'm happy with
the lap, but not so much the 3lap. I used Finn's strat,
0-0-2 shrooming 1st and 2nd turns. I've probably played
this track the most, but it helped me get accustomed to
the Barrel Train.
MC: Thanks Mark for showing me Derek's 29'27 vid.
DC: Haven't even clocked a full hour of play on this
track.
WS: Barrel Train! Flap can go down more, I had a 33'128
with a very wide last turn costing, let's say (for
argument's sake), 0.5 secs. 3lap is pretty close to my
max =/ Stefan is a machine on this track, considering
his flap...
SL: some credit to John for the flap. My second of only
two wins on Guillaume, hehe.
YC: I don't get it.
DKM: Don't ask =)
DDJ: Got these yesterday, down from 1'54'5 and 36'9..
Flap is a 1 shroomer on a 1'50 run. My potential is
maxed at mid 1'48s, so I'm happy with the 3lap. Took its
toll on my fingers, though.
RR: Flap 1-shroomer.

Maybe I can push and shove my way into the top 10 soon.
And give my old buddy Lars some extra reasons to PR
(we're evenly matched at the moment).

DKM:
That's a bit more like it.
Laps: 38'6 38'4 37'8 0-1-1. Did a 37.5 1-shroom, so I
should beat my flap next time.

MCT:
Laps 33'7 33'6 33'3 0-1-1. My first and only sub-34 on
lap 1!

MB:
My oldest PRs, no more. Laps 28'6 27'25 27'9 0-2-0. I'm
near my potential here, so I don't think I can improve
much.

DDD:
Lap was good, but not flawless.. might improve it later.
I broke 1'36 three times ('54 '84 '97), but the race
above was the only one I was happy with,
since I usually have one crappy lap somewhere - finally,
a race with no goof-ups.
Laps 33'4 31'15 30'99 0-1-1 (yes, on first lap the
tornado gets pretty close).
As for potential.. 30'9 one-shroomer on lap 1.. that
says enough.

DKM: I was going for flap here... laps 38'59 36'669
38'62 0-2-0.
YC: 37'47 35'08 35'37. Nothing extraordinary, just
wanted 1'47s.
BC: I hate this course. I do bad then worse times, and
all of a sudden
a 1.5sec improvement on the lap. What the.. And
immediately back to sloppy
times once more. A chunky 5 seconds chopped off the
3lap, but
still miles away from the WR. Anyway, a good time to
enter lap2 for the flap
is at 55-56s (a bit after the staff ghost), the thwomps
are all out of the
way, and fireballs can be avoided without much hassle.

played it a bit longer, hit over ten more 29'7s, and
finally got my SR.

PB: Woohoo, I have nice times now. Laps were 23'7 23'9
24'1 2-0-0.
My best laps: 24'4 23'9 23'0 0-0-2, and 23'5 23'9 23'9
2-0-0.
Not much room for improvement =/
BP: It took a 1'07'000 (on my first try, somehow) to
piss me off enough to
invest an hour into this. Laps were 9'70 9'42 (eww) 9'60
9'61 9'50 9'51 9'52,
shrooming laps 1 and 2. Check out the flap *grin* I
realised what I was doing
wrong - I only did one SSMT (after my 2nd shroom)
heading for the finish,
but you can fit another SSMT mere inches before the
finish line. Instant success!
MB: Erm, looked pretty average. Apparently not. Done on
lap 2 (no troublesome cars).

MB: First try :) Small .010 improvement.
MCR: Laps 31'8 30'5 30'0 0-1-1. Lap 3 was nice.
DDJ: An extra shroom, yet only a .07 improvement. Makes
no sense.
BC: Funny story.. I'm racing a 2'27'7 ghost (that was a
2.2 sec PR, btw), and
I'm miles ahead on lap 3, and for the first time manage
to beat the bowser fireball at
the drop-off shortcut (lap 3). I pause at the zipper
jump.. I'm feeling nervous (since I'm 2+ seconds
ahead with one corner to go) so I wipe my hands clean,
and get ready to hit Continue...
and somehow hit Quit instead! Needless to say, I'm not
in a good mood! But I just laugh it off :)
By quitting I lost my 2'27 ghost, but I wanted to keep
trying. On the next attempt,
again I get low 48, sub 48, and beat the fireball on the
lap 3 drop-off shortcut.
I made sure not to pause this time!
Laps were 48'36 47'88 49'60 1-1-0. My attempt before
that was faster, 48'1!! 47'9 and had
a better looking final lap (I can do 48'9 no shroom).
Anyway, I chop off yet another 2 seconds, 4 overall in
an hour. Yay.
And then I notice my 47'88 1 shroomer, and my 47'76
flap... so I retry,
and on the very next attempt I tie Guillaume for an SR!
His was probably a 1 shroomer
anyway ... I still hate this course, though.

unlucky too, since my PR before that was just .04 over.

SL: I was after a 1'17, but got the flap together: 26'63

25'090 26'21. You have to use both shrooms before lap 3
in order to still be able to do the 2 MTs around the
ice-crack corner on lap 3 (A ShyGuy gets in the way
otherwise, and you have to go out of your usual path to
avoid it).

cost.. it's was the final narrow one before the end
spiral), but all the MTs and shrooms were just the way I
had planned them.

I'm really impressed how much I improved here.. I got
some high 2'05s last night to try and beat Bart, and
today almost straight away hit a 2'05'2.
My second fastest race is 2'04'97 (1'02'71 1'02'26 1-1).
This course is cool :)

MB: 27'71 27'43 26'96 0-0-2.
On the race above I missed an MT on lap 2.. rest was
good.
Bart & John: my best laps are 27'68 27'16 26'81 0-0-2 1'21'7.
Flap is looking much better. Hopefully John agrees that
26'8 wasn't worthy of an SR when we're hitting 26'9 1
shroomers (well, not I.. I don't do 1 shroomers).

Oh boy.. this course has enormous potential. Definitely
a
low 1'41, or even mid 1'40.
Check out my laps above: first and last laps are
rubbish.. they can both be 0.5 faster... and yet I only
managed two races under 1'43 altogether. I did have a
1'43'0 with a 34'7 1-shroomer though, almost
a new definition for "anticlimax" =)
And that wasn't the only 34'9 33'4 I messed up on the
last lap, either >=P

As soon as I hit this one, I saw that 2/3 of the laps
were my
best ones, so I changed course.. very unlikely I would
have
improved it again. I also didn't use the SC on the first
lap.
Best laps: 36'33 34'42 34'46 = 1'45'2.

SL: 26'23 25'81 24'83 0-0-2 BT6UY5DP/JKPZ4JT5.
My PR had a iffy 26'6 first lap, and I wanted my SR
back.
I beat the SR with a 1'17'01 (26'23 25'90 24'86)..
a bitter sweet PR - I was then determined to get a 1'16.
Took me longer than I thought it would (I even got a
1'17'002
inbetween, which only fueled my determination), but I
wasn't going to bed without a 1'16 :)
My laps were OK.. I've had faster races (26'0 25'8 -)
but usually
messed up the 2-shroomer on lap 3.. my 5th best time is
1'17'15 now
because of all those attempts with messed up shrooms at
the end.
Best laps: 25'993! 25'77 24'79 0-0-2 = 1'16'5.
I don't know why my no shroomers on lap 2/3 are only 0.2
faster than lap 1.. I got a lot of 26'0x lap 1 (around
1/3 of my races)..
but beat 25'8 on lap 2/3 just once.

Believe it or not, flap can go much faster.. at least <
24'5. I usually
lose time in the first half of the course without even
noticing, but I
made up 0.4+ on my 24'84 ghost in my old 3lap PR - I
started 0.2
behind it, and ended up pushing it out of the screen in
the cave.. of
course, it totally wiped the floor with my ass on the
second half of the race :)
But hey, at least it had weaknesses!

Very good no-shroom.. sweet 3rd lap, too.
I did watch Cesar's movie, but I only used two of his
moves - (1) don't
do an air-MT on the spiral, it screws up how close you
can hug the
inner wall (2) the SSMT between the thwomps.
Otherwise, I do a lot of things differently.. I go to
the right path
at the first fork (and get 1 extra MT), I go to the
right side
of the second fork (mesh) and get one extra MT, and also
go to the right
side of the spinning flamewheel (and do an extra MT).
I also shroom directly on landing, and MT back on the
road (he delays his).
Best laps 47'9 47'2 47'2 = 2'22'3.

For flap I shroom halfway up the spiral, and the usual
shroom at the end.
I enter the lap at 56-57 seconds, when the thwomps and
flamewheel are easy to pass.

I think the pool shroom saves 0.3, and the final-stairs
shroom saves 0.2.. so it seems my best 0s (-0.5 lap 1
offset)
1s and 2s laps are very "equal" in quality.

For my failures.. there were too many to count. A
1'40'50
with a 33'7 1s (an "average" 33'1 would have been nice),
and
three 3rd lap leads of 0.4 (and a 0.6) on a 1'40'10
ghost..
all came to an abrupt end at either the spiral stairs,
or the
very last dining table (it's in mid-motion, and
_totally_ in
the way).

Ohoho baby... I _totally_ maxed out my strat..
but this course is by far the easiest to
get within .1 of my best laps almost each attempt,
so I got a fair few 1'10s as a result.

23'23 23'64 23'64 2-0-0 = 1'10'51 (lap 1 can
be .1 faster here).
Now that's what I call consistency..

Simon was right, the WRs here were not particularly
strong. Icky first lap, but decent 1-shroomers. With
some
luck, could go 1'46s (sub-35 1-shroomers are definitely
doable). Quite beatable, both of them.

overall is sorta possible. And 59's no-shroomers too..

I was up against a formidable foe here.. a 1'44'544
ghost
(36'18 34'18 34'19) who despite having a missed MT on
lap 2
was overall a very solid race. Lap 2 was a bit of a
bummer, felt like a lost cause to play on.. anyway,
around the bend I go,
and my ghost uses his last shroom and zooms lightyears
ahead
of me (ok, maybe .3 is a better approximation), and then
a
bloody miracle happens.. I keep getting closer and
closer,
and end up overtaking it on final 2 MTs of the race.
And holy crap, I got the WR for it - totally deserved
it, too, for that 3rd lap catch-up effort alone.
Flap can be better still. Also got a '627 and '676 and
certainly saw some errors in them.
I still can't do the no-shroom jump properly. I think
it's
more efficient to get a .3 slower lap 1 and have many
attempts at getting fast 1-shroomers than to only hit it
correctly a few times during the entire night and be
under
pressure for the next two laps.

I was getting really frustrated at how often I was
missing MTs, but lucky for me, I finally broke 1'17 so I
could get a break (I played LC a lot yesterday and
today).
A bit relieved to be up there in 1'16-land with Cesar
and
Nobuo for the moment. I'm pretty sure I can improve by
another .2 if I put in the hours, since '15 '35 '35 is a
very possible race for me.

Best laps: 26'059 25'277 25'277 = 1'16'61

Lap 1 is largely influenced by the "lucky" version
of the drop on the first zipper, which is pretty much
always
.1-.2 faster. The ghost I was racing was 1'17'04
('27,'36,'40),
and I could always get it out of the screen in
the first few seconds alone when I got a lucky drop (you
kinda hit the road below the zipper right away, spending
almost
no time in the air at all.. you have to be touching the
wall
as you hit the zipper to do this -- and even then, it
doesn't
always work).

Flap.. absolute killer time.. a "Flawless victory.
Fatality" >=]
Just perfect. My PR before that was aaaaalll the way
back at 24'98,
so seeing this score flash up on the screen just blew me
away.

It was a bit too early for me to have another
epic marathon with a tough barrier within 24 hours
of LC, so I was mainly focusing on the flap. But then
I hit a surprisingly fast 23'88 first lap (.2 better
than what I had before), and once again it looked like
it was gonna be a long night MKDD-ing. So I stocked up
on some milk and water, got cosy on my sofa, and off I
went to tear this track apart.

(4 hours later) Got the race above. Laps 1 and 3 were
my best (not by much.. only .03 and .07, but still
best).
Lap 2 (flap) had some errors in it. The double MTs on
the paved corner at the end of the first beach are hard
to do well on 3 laps in a row. I used to attempt it only
on flap.

Best laps: 23'790! 22'402! 23'400 0-2-0 = 1'09'59

Flap: Phwoar, another LC-type miracle -- where (granted
that everything went right with the MTs and shrooms)
I knew I was about to see some numbers flash when
about to cross the line, but I hadn't expected them to
be
THAT low.
My next fastest was 22'524, so this lap stood out by a
mile. Will be an extremely tough WR to beat (just like
LC).

Fark, a third stupidly difficult barrier. My only 1'20,
I had to play for almost 3 hours extra after I got a
1'21'05 to get this race. Totally worth it :)

26'8x no shroomers are very sweet to get, and I've only
done about 5 of them so far, so I was lucky to get one
here.

John: 0-0-2 seems to be the optimal strat, since the
cars on the first
two big turns are much easier to avoid on lap 2 (so go
on the inside
without shrooms). With 27'5 first lap, you should be
able to bust
out a few 26'9s no-shroomers on lap 2, and lap 3 is
equally fast for
the flap (shroom the insides of the first two corners as
usual, but don't
slide on the first shroom until you're fully past the
truck).

Best laps: 27'403 26'790! 26'447 0-0-2 = 1'20'640

SL: 26'007 25'765 24'715 0-0-2.
When racing the ghost, it turned out that lap 2 was a
bit screwy
near the cave (in the order of .3 screwy). Oh well,
still good.

(those splits are from today; I may have had faster on
lap 1 before)

The 59'47 1-shroom was raced with extreme venom, since I
was very cheesed off with a 1'00'3 1-shroomer before it,

that race - the two 1-shroomers differed by 0.8 :-)

with my finishing.
