I haven't had much time for karting now, so I've concentrated on
MUshroom Cup so far - especially Peach Beach. That's my favourite
track by far. DDD is a very dry experience. I gave it three tries,
and felt that I never, ever wanted to do that again.
All times are of course driven on 60 hrz.

As for strats: On Peach Beach I drive 002, and use the first shroom
across the grass between the two parts of the beach, and the second
one over the grass on the next corner. This combination gave far
better results than any other strat I tried.

Working my way towards a full set, today I'm adding Mushroom Bridge
and Mario Circuit. Two of the better tracks, I think.
So far I'm consequently using an 0-0-2 strat.

System is PAL, and I'm using 60 hrz, of course!

Have made the canyon jump successfully once! That's the fastlap time there. But it's a first lap, with a horrible start and no shroom. That 3laps has no canyon jump - and preciously little else to recommend it. But it's a time.

I'm satified with that one, but I think this is one of the tracks that will wear out first. It's a first, btw, in that it is the first time I'm using the Barrel Train. All my other times has been made with Bullet.
That's it. Three more tracks to go, then I can start going back to clean up all the bad work.

I had to try Barrel Train on one of my "good" tracks. And yes, it seems that Barrel Train rules. But it still is a bit trickier to handle than Bullet, I think. At least in the start.

Here are times from the last three tracks. Dino Dino I'll have to be satisfied with, Bowser's Castle reeks of burnt babykoopas, and RRo ... well, at least I managed not to fall off.

Got stuck to the road lining on the last uphill on that 3laps. "Grrr", like Tim uses to say. (See thread on that topic.)
Strat is 0-0-2. I have switched to doubleshrooming on the first corner. I think that's maybe as much as 0"2 faster than shrooming on the other two green spots.

was never a characteristic with the Bowser I knew in MK64. Trying to get through three laps there recently was driving me bananas. But Bowser has certainly mellowed in his transition to DD. Ok, he still tries to kill you, but it's a little half-hearted, almost as if he wants you to stay and enjoy yourself.

The start drove me crazy for a long while, crashing as I did four out of five times trying to go on the inside of the blue bus. But then I dropped the idea of firing the second MT before going in between the bus and the curb. Keeping it instead, and releasing it as I passed the bus, while hauling the kart forward with the stick, did the trick.

The flap is a 2shroomer on second lap. I use one shroom on the second corner, and one going on the outside of the red (?) bus on the last corner. I guess I should go on the inside, but that's for later .
