1-1-1 strat, questionable shroom usage and driving at best

Let the fun begin... wheeeeeee....

So I've only gotten to play MKDS for about 30 min now so I'm still
figuring out how everything works. I haven't even bothered playing
GP or reading the manual.

I already unlocked the staff ghost on Figure-8 Circuit and my time
is only a few tenths behind the staff ghost time. Not bad for 3
tries. Hehe.

Anyway here are a few more records...

(This was my 2nd completed clean run. My orginal post was my first
clean completed run which took about 5 retries after getting the
handle on the powersliding.)

On this run I was more agressive and had a few mistakes here and
there. Not sure which character to use at this point. I'm sure grand
prix will unlock characters/karts which are faster. Right now, at
least to me, all of the karts seem pretty similar in overall time.
There is just a big difference in how the handle. Also, I also noted
that certain characters will only get 1 shroom (Wario/Yoshi) while
certain characters get 3 shrooms (Bowser/Mario). Anyone else notice
this?

I finished up GP, unlocked the ROB karts and started racing with those.

I went through and beat the staff ghosts on the nitro tracks (except
for DS which I hate, DKP which I skipped and RR which I didn't get to.
I will beat the staff ghosts tomorrow along with the retro staff ghosts).
